A hospital room in St. Louis, 1969. Tennessee Williams, author of A Streetcar Named Desire, is struggling to overcome his addiction to drugs and alcohol. The border between hallucination and reality becomes blurred as a number of visitors appear in his room. Some are real ghosts from the past, others are historical figures he’s never met, and still others are fictional characters out of his own plays.Against a background of New Orleans jazz, Armando Rosa’s new play makes connections between the people, both real and imaginary, that have influenced the life and writing of one of America’s greatest playwrights.
