FINAL WEEK! DON´T MISS!
A Comedy by Alan Ayckbourn
Directed by Celia Williams
With Celia Williams, Elizabeth Bochmann, Eduardo Ribeiro and Norman MacCallum
After an absence of nearly 30 years, the work of Alan Ayckbourn returns to the Lisbon Players stage with Relatively Speaking, his 1965 comedy which became his first West End hit.
Alan Ayckbourn is Britain’s most prolific living playwright having written over seventy five plays. He wrote Relatively Speaking following a request for a play to make people laugh when their summer holidays were spoilt by rain; this production too will be sure make you chuckle and warm you up in this cold season and even colder economic climate.
Following it’s West End premiére in 1967, reviews of Relatively Speaking included : “Froth I said, and froth I maintain, but it is whipped to something near perfection and the result is a deliciously heady concoction” (Evening News) and “Slight, tenuous and too fragile for rational analysis, Relatively Speaking emerges as the funniest trick of the season.” (Evening Standard).
